Pastor JJ

Pastor JJ Martinez

Pastor JJ was born and raised in Riverside, California. In his pursuit of a nursing degree, he found himself attending Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was during this time that he heard the call to ministry. After changing career paths, he graduated from Union College in 2017 with a bachelors in theology. He began working for the Rocky Mountain Conference shortly after where he pastored a small district. His ministry then led him to Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI. where he began his master’s degree. He graduated from the Seminary with a Masters of Divinity in December of 2021. He has a passion for sharing the love of Jesus Christ, especially with the youth. Youth ministries has become a passion of his and hopes to help the youth begin or grow their relationship with Jesus. For him, it is a huge blessing to be able to journey the road with others as they discover their own relationship with God. He is excited to work with the youth and the church as a whole. In his free time you can find him doing many things which among those is trying new foods.

Jean Coren - Head Elder

When one surrenders self, we never know quite what the Lord will ask of us or what direction He will lead. Jean certainly did not expect to be lead in this direction. She truly did not see herself serving in a leadership role such as this one.
Jean love studying, learning and searching God’s Word, devouring all that she can. She has enjoyed helping out wherever needed and whenever asked. Jean has served the church in multiple areas including Beginners and Kindergarten Sabbath School, Prayer Ministry, School Board, Church Board and as an Elder. As a member of the Body of Christ, I have always been impressed that we need to use any talent we have to server when and where we are needed.
Life if difficult, we all have stories upon stories of the hardships and trials we have been through – all under the direct supervision of Our Lord! Jean has learned to praise Him in all things, even though devastation and heartbreak. I give Him all the glory, praise, and honor. He truly has been with me through it all. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 NKJV
As Head Elder, I pray that I never take the responsibility lightly. I am ever developing the courage to preach and to teach. I know that it is also a responsibility to proclaim the truth to our church family. My prayer is for our local church to prosper and be a light to our community.
As we look for His soon coming, I pray for His will to be done in and through us all.
